As you step into our climbing area the Entrance Wall greets you with a variety of routes that cater to climbers of all levels. This wall is a great starting point offering something for everyone from beginners to experienced climbers looking to warm up or try out new techniques.

170 Square Meters Airship Wall

With its unique design and structure the Airship Wall provides a wide range of technical challenges and difficulty levels making it a favorite among intermediate and advanced climbers. Its distinctive shape and varying angles offer a dynamic climbing experience that is both fun and demanding.

Looking to climb solo but still want to challenge yourself without needing a partner? Kong Climbing has exactly what you need! Our facility is equipped with 12 state-of-the-art auto-belay stations, allowing you to safely climb on your own, while still enjoying a diverse range of routes. Whether you’re a beginner testing out your climbing skills or an advanced climber looking for a solo challenge, these stations provide the perfect solution for independent climbers who prioritize both safety and convenience.

Where to Find Them

Our 12 auto-belay stations are strategically placed throughout our expansive climbing area, offering a total of 24 unique and exciting routes for you to explore. Each station is designed to accommodate two distinct routes, ensuring there’s always a fresh challenge waiting for you. Whether you’re tackling beginner-friendly 5.6 routes or pushing yourself on more advanced 5.12+ difficulties, you’ll find a variety of challenges suited to your skill level and preferences. With auto-belays distributed across various wall angles and heights, there’s always something new to conquer, no matter your expertise.

Auto Belay Safety Guidelines

Climbing with an auto-belay system requires you to take responsibility for ensuring your safety during your climb. These systems are incredibly convenient, but proper safety checks and adherence to guidelines are essential for a secure climbing experience. Always make sure to follow these key safety protocols to enjoy your climb to the fullest without unnecessary risks:

1. Clear Your Fall Zone

Before you start climbing, always make sure that the area directly below you, or your fall zone, is clear of obstacles and other climbers. The fall zone must be free of any hazards to ensure a safe descent in case you need to come down suddenly. This is especially important in a busy climbing gym where multiple climbers might be navigating the same space. A clear fall zone prevents collisions and minimizes the risk of injury to both yourself and others.

2. Perform a Rope Check

Before you begin your climb, it’s crucial to give the rope a quick test pull. This ensures that there’s enough resistance and that the steel cable of the auto-belay system is retracting properly. A proper check helps prevent accidents caused by faulty or improperly functioning equipment. If you notice any irregularities such as excessive slack or lack of tension, stop immediately and notify our staff. Your safety is our priority, and our team is always available to assist with equipment checks.

3. Secure Your Harness

Properly securing your harness is vital for safe climbing. Begin by clipping the carabiner from the auto-belay system into the central tie-in loop of your climbing harness. Once clipped in, double-check to make sure the carabiner is fully closed and locked. A secure connection is essential for keeping you attached to the system throughout your climb. Taking the time to verify your harness setup minimizes the risk of unexpected accidents while on the wall.

4. Handle the Cable with Care

When using the auto-belay system, always handle the steel cable carefully to avoid twisting or kinking it. Rough or improper handling can damage the cable, compromising its functionality and your safety. Ensuring the cable remains straight and untangled as you climb will keep it in optimal working condition for both you and future climbers. If you notice any issues with the cable’s appearance or functionality, notify staff immediately to avoid potential risks.

5. Stay on Route

When climbing with an auto-belay system, it’s important to remain within the designated route. Straying from the route or climbing erratically can result in slack in the rope, which compromises the safety of the system. If you notice slack while climbing, stop and adjust your pace to ensure the rope remains taut. Staying on route not only keeps you safe but also ensures you have the best climbing experience by following the intended path of the route.

6. Control Your Descent

When you're ready to descend, don't rush! Sit back into your harness and allow the auto-belay system to gradually lower you. To control your descent, use the blue rope and keep one hand on the wall to stabilize yourself and avoid spinning. This simple precaution not only makes the descent smoother but also ensures you maintain full control of your body position as you come down.

7. Mind the Weight Limits

For your safety, please ensure that you fall within the weight limits for our auto-belay systems. The minimum weight for safe use is 15 kg, and the maximum weight is 130 kg. These weight limits are established to ensure the system functions correctly and provides adequate support during your climb. If you are unsure about your weight or how the system operates, feel free to consult our staff for guidance before beginning your climb.

Training

Kilterboard

Our Kilterboard measuring 3.8 meters wide and 3.8 meters high is an advanced training tool that’s adjustable from +10 degrees to -70 degrees. With an app offering access to 80000 different problems this board provides an interactive and customizable training experience with illuminated holds guiding you through various routes.

Moonboard

Alongside the Kilterboard we have a MoonBoard a popular training wall known for its standardized problems. The MoonBoard allows climbers to challenge themselves against globally recognized benchmarks and track their progress. Its steep angles and demanding holds make it perfect for those looking to push their limits.

Fitness Area

Our fitness area may be compact but it is fully equipped with the essentials for effective strength and conditioning training. Carefully chosen by our expert climbing trainers the equipment supports climbers of all levels from beginners to national athletes. For hygiene reasons please wear proper footwear and a shirt when using the area and remember that chalk is not permitted. We also ask that you store all equipment properly after use. Additionally a dedicated space on the upper floor near the bouldering mushroom is available for flexibility and gymnastics exercises.

Training Boards

In our second-floor lounge area you’ll find a variety of training boards including campus boards essential for developing power technique and finger strength. This area is designed for focused training and it may occasionally be reserved for specialized sessions so please check the schedule.

Fingerboards

Located next to the training boards our fingerboards are key for improving finger strength an absolute must for serious climbers. Please ensure that any additional weights used during fingerboard training are stored properly and not left on the bouldering mats.
